Actuarial Graduate Opportunity at a Glance
As an Actuarial Student at SJP, you'll embark on a journey to achieve IFoA qualifications alongside your work. We offer a generous study package and support from a team with a long history of helping graduates obtain these qualifications. You'll have the chance to rotate through different divisions demanding actuarial expertise. These 18- to 24-month placements cover traditional and non-traditional actuarial areas, including Financial and Capital Modelling, Research and Development (R&D), Risk Management, Data Analytics, and Transformation.
Your Role and Responsibilities
During your journey to qualification, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Draft Reports and Communicate: You'll engage with key stakeholders, drafting reports and effectively communicating with your team.
- Model Design and Efficiency: You'll design models, redefine processes, and enhance efficiencies across actuarial divisions within SJP, employing a variety of data tools like spreadsheets, R, and SQL.
- Product and Business Insights: Develop a deep understanding of SJP products and our business model.
- Project Support: Contribute to project delivery, ensuring effective and efficient business operations.
- Relationship Leadership: Engage in conversations with various collaborators within the business to identify potential risks, refining your relationship leadership skills.
Requirements: Is This Your Path?
To qualify for this role, you should:
- Be on track to achieve or have achieved a 2:2 in any subject, with strong mathematical ability.
- Preferably hold a math-based degree such as Actuarial Science, Maths, Economics, Engineering, Physics, or related fields. However, strong mathematical skills, such as demonstrated by strong Maths A-level results, in other degrees will also be considered.
- Enjoy problem-solving and analytical thinking, with confidence in mathematical equations and spreadsheet functions.
