Responsibilities

As a Cyber Defense Analyst (Detection I), you will play a crucial role in our security operations team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Monitor and respond to security events escalated through our Security Information and Event Management System (SIEM).
• Interface with employees reporting security issues, ensuring efficient communication channels.
• Document security events in our Incident Management System.

• Perform analysis of security events using data collected from network, host systems, and application logs.
• Follow established processes and procedures to assess the nature of threats and escalate or refute events as necessary.

Requirements

To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and personal attributes:

• BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or related fields.
• No formal work experience required; demonstrate your passion for information security through completed coursework, degrees, self-study, and certifications.
• Strong customer-service orientation.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to different stakeholders.
• Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to effectively engage with individuals at all levels of the organization, including technical and non-technical, management, and senior leadership.
