Our Digital team at BMW Financial Services is dedicated to developing systems and solutions that make buying a car or motorbike online with finance easy. We embrace an Agile approach, working as a project team to build Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and continuously enhance them. Our department is business-focused yet highly tech-savvy.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Digital Software Engineer Placement student at BMW Financial Services, you will:

• Collaborate with feature teams, 3rd party software providers, central Munich teams, and other departments to develop, implement, and integrate Digital projects.
• Become a vital member of the Digital team, providing suggestions and recommendations for new initiatives.
• Support your team through various tasks, including system testing, documenting technical requirements, and assisting in communication strategies for new systems.
• Work with agility, adapting to different projects as per business strategy.
• Analyse data sets, identify key insights, trends, and present results and reports to various areas of the business.
• Understand different data sets and their integration and diagnose issues and anomalies.
• Learn system architectures and identify future integration pieces and potential problems.
• Take ownership of ad-hoc projects, including exploration, implementation, and reporting.
• Work with applications and technical data sources, including databases, APIs, and JAVA development.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential:

• Pursuing a BSc in Computer Science or a related field, with a predicted 2:2 graduation.
• Proficient in SQL, Java, and APIs.
• Interest or experience in coding or programming.
• Innovative, entrepreneurial mindset with problem-solving skills.
• Commercial acumen and relationship-building abilities.
• Keen interest in data, numbers, and new technologies.
• Business qualification at A-Level or part of your degree is a plus.
